Giotto Stoppino (1926–2011)
Was an Italian architect and designer and an important figure in post-war Italian design. After studying architecture in Venice and Milan, he worked with Vittorio Gregotti and Lodovico Meneghetti until 1968, when he established his own studio.

His work encompassed architecture, furniture and lighting, with a strong focus on experimentation with plastic, metal and glass. Stoppino collaborated with leading manufacturers including Kartell, Arteluce, Acerbis, Bernini, Driade and Elco. His best-known designs include the Kartell magazine rack, the model 537 lamp for Arteluce, the Scagno stacking tables for Elco and the Sheraton cabinet for Acerbis.
Winner of the Compasso d’Oro in 1979 and 1991, Giotto Stoppino created functional furniture with innovative forms that embodies the experimental character of 1960s and 1970s Italian design.
